Powers is pleased to announce that sixteen of the firm’s attorneys across four practice areas have been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© 2023. Fifteen attorneys were recognized in Best Lawyers, and one was recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.

Principal Sherry Gray is recognized in the Education Law section of Best Lawyers for the ninth year in a row. In 2020, Sherry was selected as the “Lawyer of the Year” for education law in the Washington, D.C. region.

The firm’s Healthcare practice has ten attorneys recognized, including Principals Ronald S. Connelly, Mark R. FitzgeraldJames M. Jorling, Diane S. MillmanRobert M. Portman, William H. von Oehsen III, and Barbara Straub Williams along with Senior Counsel Mary Susan Philp and Counsel Rebecca L. Burke. Mark Fitzgerald has been recognized for the past 12 years; Diane Millman has been recognized for 21 years; and Barbara Williams has been recognized for five years. James Jorling, Robert Portman and Mary Susan Philp are recognized for the third year in a row for their accomplishments.

Healthcare Associate Mark Ogunsusi was selected for Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, awarded to those attorneys who are junior in their career, for outstanding professional excellence in private practice. Mark was awarded this honor for the past two years.

Principals Brian GunnPaul Moorehead and Kevin J. Wadzinski are recognized in the Native American Law section. Best Lawyers has recognized Paul and Kevin for eleven years and Brian for nine years.

Senior Counsel Robert J. Saner II and Counsel D. Benson Tesdahl are recognized in non-profit/charities law. Robert Saner was also awarded this honor in 2022.
