Powers Principal Bobby Silverstein was interviewed on “Barrier Free Futures,” a disability rights and services talk radio show on Santa Fe Public Radio.
In the interview, Bobby discusses his role in the development of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as staff director and chief counsel to the US Senate Subcommittee on Disability Policy and chief aide to Senator Tom Harkin, the lead sponsor of the ADA in the Senate. Bobby, a behind-the-scenes architect of the ADA, discusses his experience gaining bipartisan support for the major civil rights bill and the current status and future of disability rights.
