Powers is very pleased to announce that Margaret “Peggy” Tighe has joined our public policy and government relations group as Counsel.  Tighe will continue to focus her practice on legislative and regulatory issues for health systems, patient groups, and provider organizations.

Tighe has extensive expertise in lobbying and health care policy including Affordable Care Act implementation, Medicare provider reimbursement including SGR reform, hospital wage index issues, and nursing payment.  She also has significant experience in Social Security disability policies, patient safety, medical liability reform, as well as Long Term Acute Care Hospitals, clinical laboratory, hunger and nutrition, and patient-focused pharmaceutical policy.

Prior to joining the Powers , Tighe served as lead lobbyist for the American Medical Association and, most recently, served health system, provider, and patient clients at Strategic Health Care, a health care consulting firm. She is a former President of Women in Government Relations and a graduate of Wittenberg University and the Widener University School of Law.  Tighe is admitted to practice in DC and Pennsylvania.
