On June 8-9, Powers Principal Paul Moorehead moderated a panel at the Native American Coalition for Economic Prosperity‘s (NACEP) 5th Convening of the Government-to-Government Roundtable Series, which brings important conversations directly into Tribal communities. Hosted by the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, the convening represents more than a gathering; it reflects a continued commitment to meeting where progress is happening and elevating Tribal leadership at every level.
Paul’s panel, “From Capitol Hill to Indian Country: Legislative Updates and Emerging Federal Priorities,” highlighted the latest developments in Congress and across federal agencies affecting Tribal communities. The session examined emerging policy priorities, ongoing advocacy efforts, and opportunities for Tribal leaders to help shape legislation and federal initiatives that support Tribal sovereignty and economic growth.
Founded in 2025, the Native American Coalition for Economic Prosperity (NACEP) is a national, bi-partisan collaboration of Tribal Nations, Federal partners, and private sector leaders dedicated to advancing Tribal economic sovereignty and prosperity. Its mission is to expand access to capital, creating jobs, and building infrastructure rooted in Tribal priorities, ensuring Tribal Nations are central to America’s economic future.
