Powers is pleased to announce that attorneys Mark Fitzgerald, Rob Portman, Ron Connelly, Mary Susan Philp and Kathleen Hatfield have been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers 2020.

Mark Fitzgerald is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. Mark represents integrated healthcare systems, particularly systems that include academic medical centers, on a broad array of healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including compliance with the Stark and anti-kickback laws, Medicare billing and reimbursement, and self-disclosure matters. This is Mark’s seventh time being selected to Super Lawyers.

Rob Portman is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare practice, where he advises nonprofit medical societies, healthcare associations, disease-related charities, certification bodies, and other nonprofit organizations. He also develops the legal structure, agreements, and compliance documents and policies for national clinical data and public health registries sponsored by national medical societies and other nonprofit organizations. This is Rob’s third time being selected to Super Lawyers.

Ron Connelly is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. He represents acute care hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, academic medical centers, physicians, and other providers on a variety of healthcare matters, with a particular focus on litigation related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Ron has been recognized as a Super Lawyer consecutively since 2014, and he was selected as a Rising Star in 2013.

Mary Susan Philp is Senior Counsel in the firm’s healthcare practice. She has more than 30 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance matters. She represents clients in appeals before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and counsels hospitals and other healthcare providers on a variety of reimbursement and regulatory compliance issues. Mary Susan was selected as a Super Lawyer from 2008 to 2010 and each year since 2012.

Kathleen Hatfield is Counsel in the firm’s government relations practice. She provides policy guidance, legislative and legal advice for corporations and non-profit organizations, including primarily health facilities and cultural entities. Kathleen has been selected to Super Lawyers consecutively since 2015.
