Principal Sherry Gray and associates Dan Brozovic and Katherine Demedis will present on Tuesday, June 6 at the Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU) annual convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Their session, “Spotlighting Clery Act and Title IX Compliance Issues at Career Colleges,” will provide schools with a step-by-step framework for ensuring compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (commonly known as the Clery Act), and Title IX (prohibiting sex discrimination).

Sherry, Dan and Katie also consider what may be in store for the future for Title IX and Cler based on the administration’s actions to date.

Sherry Gray is a regulatory specialist with more than 24 years of experience in higher education. She advises colleges, universities, and other postsecondary institutions on all aspects of state and federal laws and accreditation standards applicable to institutions and their partners, helps defend clients against adverse actions initiated by government and accrediting agencies, and counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions.

Dan Brozovic represents institutions of higher education, investors, and education loan lenders. His practice focuses on advising clients in transactions regulated by the U.S. Department of Education and in regulatory matters and administrative litigation before the U.S. Department of Education. In addition, he counsels educational institutions regarding compliance with federal, state, accrediting agency, and grant funding agency standards.

Katherine Demedis advises educational institutions regarding compliance with state and federal standards and accrediting agency standards. She actively monitors legislative, regulatory, interpretive guidance, and other developments on a variety of federal education matters. She also provides guidance to institutions about compliance with the Clery Act and Title IX, as well as related regulations and guidance.
