Five Powers Attorneys Selected to Super Lawyers 2017

Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville is pleased to announce that five of its healthcare attorneys have been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers 2017: Ron Connelly, Mark Fitzgerald, Joel Hamme, Diane Millman and Mary Susan Philp.

Ron Connelly is a principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. Ron Connelly represents acute care hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, academic medical centers, physicians, and other providers on a variety of healthcare matters, with a particular focus on litigation related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Ron has been recognized as a Super Lawyer consecutively since 2014, and he was selected as a Rising Star in 2013.

Mark Fitzgerald, a principal in the firm’s healthcare practice, also has been selected as a Super Lawyer consecutively since 2014. He also was selected to Super Lawyers 2012. Mark has more than 30 years of healthcare law experience, and he has been recognized for his expertise in The Best Lawyers in America; Chambers and Partners and Washingtonian Magazine top lawyers.  He represents integrated healthcare systems on a broad array of healthcare regulatory and compliance matters.

Senior Counsel Joel Hamme has been selected to Super Lawyers for the tenth consecutive year. Joel has spent his career providing advice and counsel to long-term care providers on such matters as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, provider licensure and certification, litigation, and issues for providers under the Affordable Care Act. Additionally, he has served as president of the American Health Lawyers Association.

Diane Millman is a principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. She represents physicians, ambulatory care providers and professional and trade associations before the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services and other federal agencies as well as before Congress on various Medicare and Medicaid payment, fraud and abuse, physician self-referral, and other issues arising under federal law. She has been selected as a Super Lawyer each year since 2013.

Senior Counsel Mary Susan Philp has more than 30 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance matters. She is highly skilled in representing clients before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board on a variety of reimbursement issues, as well as negotiating settlements of appeals with Medicare administrative contractors. Mary Susan was selected as a Super Lawyer from 2008 to 2010 and each year since 2012.
