Rob Lavet and Tom Hylden present “Education Department Program Integrity Rules (including Gainful Employment)”

Powers partners Rob Lavet and Tom Hylden presented “ED’s Program Integrity Rules (including Gainful Employment)” at the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs, Inc. (NCHELP) Legal Meeting March 21-22 in Atlanta.

The conference also addressed legal issues in using social media, Dodd-Frank implementation, a Supreme Court update, administrative wage garnishment, and customer communications issues including compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. In addition, two student loan organization CEOs described the challenges facing their organizations, and there was an update on ED’s plans for guaranty agencies and not-for-profit servicers.
