Powers Principal Barbara Straub Williams and Associate Leela Baggett recently authored summaries of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Departmental Appeals Board (DAB) and Civil Remedies Division (CRD) decisions related to Medicare enrollment and similar issues for the American Health Lawyers Association’s Accreditation, Certification, and Enrollment (ACE) Affinity Group.  These decisions, which are published on the ACE webpage of AHLA’s website, cover DAB and CRD decisions released in the second quarter of 2016.

These summaries provide health care providers and suppliers with a greater understanding of the DAB’s and CRD’s interpretation and enforcement of Medicare rules that impact initial enrollment, revalidation, reporting, reactivation, revocation, re-enrollment, and the appeals process.

Barbara and Leela counsel healthcare providers on a wide range of federal regulatory programs, including  Medicare enrollment and reimbursement issues. They are members of AHLA’s ACE Affinity Group.
