Powers Principal, Peggy Tighe, recently served as the Chief Judge for the selection process of the Judy Schneider Fellowship, alongside Kathleen Columbe, immediate past president of Women in Government Relations (WGR). Guided by the WGR Fellows selection committee, Peggy played an important role in choosing the next class of Fellows at this prestigious professional development program.

At the WGR End of Year Celebration Gala held on Capitol Hill, Peggy spoke about the Judy Schneider Fellowship, the impact and legacy of her longtime mentor, and announced the winners.

Judy Schneider, whose decades of leadership and mentorship have shaped generations of government relations professionals, the Judy Schneider Fellowship is a highly regarded year-long program designed to support early-career advocates. It provides selected Fellows with mentorship, professional development opportunities, and access to an expansive network of experienced leaders in government relations and advocacy.

With Judy’s guidance, Peggy created the Direct to Connect program and assisted in also developing the Fellows program for WGR, both named in honor of Judy.  Peggy is a former president of WGR and last year was received WGR’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Fellowship supports emerging professionals with resources such as complimentary WGR membership, attendance at signature events, engagement with mentors, and ongoing leadership experiences — all intended to cultivate the next generation of ethical, effective, and passionate advocates.
