Megan La Suer serves as Counsel in the Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville Healthcare and Nonprofit Organizations practice groups.

Megan advises hospitals and health systems, children’s hospitals, safety net providers, pharmacies, and pharmacy benefit managers on matters such as the 340B Drug Pricing Program, Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and reimbursement, and vendor contracting.

Megan also provides legal guidance to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while advancing the organization’s mission and values.

In addition, Megan has experience counseling clients on general corporate and transactional law matters, including contract drafting and negotiations, data protection & privacy, corporate governance, and other business law matters.

Megan previously served as Assistant General Counsel to a large children's hospital where she provided regulatory and compliance advice to hospital stakeholders on a wide range of issues, including Medical Staff credentialing and peer review activities, facility licensing and billing compliance, nonprofit legal issues, hospital affiliation and partnership structure, organ transplant procurement and donation, bioethics, conflict of interest, telehealth, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

Megan began her legal career at Powers, starting as a member of Powers Summer Associate Program in 2017 and then returning as an Associate for four years. In this role, she handled compliance matters related to 340B Drug Pricing Program and Ryan White program, State Medicaid policy and licensure requirements, HIPAA privacy and security rules and the GDPR, and Medicare enrollment and reimbursement matters.

Megan received her Masters in Health Administration from The University of Iowa College of Public Health in 2018. While earning her Masters, she worked as a graduate assistant for the Rural Policy Research Institute. Megan also earned her J.D. from The University of Iowa College of Law in 2017. As a law student, she worked closely with the Iowa Alumni Relations as a student ambassador and served as a member of the Iowa Student Bar Association and the Graduate & Professional Student Government.
