Dorothy Mooney is the Executive Director, the senior non-lawyer administrative professional, at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville.
Dorothy directs the business operations of the firm and is responsible for the administration, development and implementation of policies in the areas of finance, human resources, benefits, facilities, insurance, marketing, operations, recruiting and technology. She is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and develops strategic and long-range plans for Powers.
Dorothy brings more than 25 years of law firm experience to Powers and is active in the legal community. She is the Past-President of the Association of Legal Administrators, Capital Chapter and the Capital Chapter Foundation. Prior to becoming President of ALACC she was the Vice President of Business Partner Advisory, Chair of the Small Firm Administration Community and Ambassador of the organization. In addition, she served on National, Regional and Local Committees for ALA and is the recipient of numerous awards from the legal community. Dorothy is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, National Association for Law Placement and the American Bar Association. Dorothy was awarded a national Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship (U.S. Army) and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology from Radford University.
