On Friday, October 10, 2025, Powers Principal Katherine Demedis and Associate Taylor Dowd will be presenting about the accreditation process for physician assistant (PA) programs at the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Education Forum in San Diego, California.
In their presentation titled “A Legal Perspective on Navigating the ARC-PA Accreditation Process,” Katherine and Taylor will offer insights into the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accreditation process and certain Standards. Drawing from their experiences representing several PA programs during different stages of the accreditation cycle, they will discuss the challenges of maintaining ARC-PA accreditation, including the process for appealing adverse actions. The presentation will include practical tips for demonstrating compliance with the most frequently cited Standards and some warning signs of when a PA program may be at risk.
The PAEA Education Forum is designed to serve PA educators in all areas of the profession by offering varied educational sessions, as well as a unique opportunity to connect with faculty in PA educational programs across the country. PAEA fosters continuous learning and growth of its members and innovation and excellence in PA education, including by providing services for its member programs, as well as to students, applicants, and other stakeholders. Katherine and Taylor look forward to supporting this mission by sharing their experience with the ARC-PA accreditation process with PA educators.
