What We Are Covering in Week 1:

• Session 1:
  • Campers, lace up your hiking boots and grab your canteen. We’re heading on a hike through the legal and compliance requirements related to protecting patient privacy. Keep an eye out for regulatory updates (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Information Blocking…oh my!), reports on recent enforcement initiatives (patient right of access, information blocking disincentives), and plenty of examples of how health centers are protecting patient privacy while meeting their compliance obligations. This webinar will include a “field guide” to the latest changes and challenges to protecting the privacy of patient information.
• Session 2:
  • Gather ‘round the campfire, campers. We’re sharing (true) stories about security risks related to patient information. With new federal enforcement initiatives ramping up, agencies proposing regulatory changes, and cybersecurity insurance carriers looking to limit coverage to control their costs, some of the stories might get a little scary. Not to fear, your Camp Counselor, Dianne Pledgie, will guide you through what is real, how to identify your health center’s risks areas, and what to do next.
