📌 Recent Wins
On April 25th, Bryan Newland received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the James Madison College Alumni Association at Michigan State University. The award recognized his deep commitment to public service and his impactful leadership in federal and tribal government. James Madison College, a residential college within MSU, is known for its focus on political, legal, social, and economic education.
📅 Where You’ve Seen Him Lately
Bryan served as the Keynote Speaker at the 2025 Federal Bar Association Indian Law Conference, held at Sandia Pueblo in New Mexico. He shared insights from his career in private practice and government, calling on Indian law attorneys to support the development of strong tribal institutions that uphold sovereignty and serve Indian communities. At the close of his keynote, Bryan was honored by the FBA Indian Law Section for his service as Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs.

In addition to his keynote, Bryan also participated in a panel on strengthening tribal law enforcement and public safety amidst shifting federal laws. He emphasized the importance of creative solutions for protecting public safety and navigating recent legal limitations on tribal jurisdiction.
