Litigation Paralegal

Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC, a mid-size law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to provide paralegal and administrative support to healthcare attorneys in the litigation practice. The Litigation Paralegal will support the Firm’s healthcare attorneys by preparing and filing documents, conducting legal research, and gathering and organizing relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation. They will also be responsible for organizing exhibits, tracking court filings and deadlines, maintaining and updating electronic databases, and editing and formatting documents in Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software programs. This position will assist with administrative tasks including time entry, scheduling appointments and travel arrangements, submitting reimbursements, and maintaining calendars.

This position requires excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and timely under pressure and deadlines and prioritize multiple projects and tasks. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional is required, and relevant certifications are preferred. This person must have resourceful legal research and analytical skills with the ability to collect and synthesize complex or diverse information. Project Assistant

Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC, a mid-size law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Project Assistant to provide support to attorneys within the healthcare practice. This position will assist attorneys with administrative and occasional client billable tasks. This position is responsible for drafting, editing and finalizing documents, interacting with clients, coordinating calendars and travel arrangements, time entry, billing, and reimbursements. Other standard duties include preparing documents, drafting agenda and minutes for meetings, proofreading, managing case files, managing conflicts, preparing engagement letters, opening client matters, coordinating meetings and assisting with webinars and training programs. This individual works 37.50 regular hours per week in the office during regular business hours and should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.  Following the initial 90-day introduction period, this position may be available for a hybrid work environment.

This position requires excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and prioritize multiple projects, tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional, and be willing and able to learn new technologies and software applications with minimal guidance.
