SUMMARY:DEI and Nondiscrimination Laws | Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Session 1:\nAugust 5 at 1:00 pm (EDT) \nSession 2:\nAugust 7 at 1:00 pm  (EDT) \nCamp Counselor: Jason Qu\n\nWhat We Are Covering in Week 5:\n\nSessions 1 & 2 – DEI and Nondiscrimination Laws: Legal Landscape Update \n\nRecent developments in case law and federal policy have shifted how key nondiscrimination laws applicable to health centers are being interpreted\, applied\, and enforced by agencies\, funders\, and regulatory authorities. These shifts have cast doubt on the legality of long-established diversity\, equity\, and inclusion (“DEI”)-related policies and practices and may be in tension with other programmatic\, contractual\, and/or state-level legal commitments.\nThese webinar sessions will provide attendees with a primer on applicable nondiscrimination laws—including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act\, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act\, the Age Discrimination Act\, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act—and on the changing legal landscape surrounding DEI. Attendees will explore how to make strategic\, risk-informed decisions regarding the continuation of DEI-related activities (including but not limited to targeted programs\, data collection\, and employment practices) against the current backdrop of legal uncertainty and shifting norms.\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\nEach Compliance Summer Camp session will be recorded and available on demand. The recordings will be available for 60 days after the live session ends.\nFor additional information and other events in the same series\, visit our Compliance Camp Website.\nPlease contact training@powerslaw.com if you have any questions\, or are interested in purchasing our discounted “all-access bundle” to all six weeks for $1500.\n\n

SUMMARY:340B Drug Discount Program | Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Session 1:\nAugust 12 at 1:00 pm (EDT) \nSession 2:\nAugust 14 at 1:00 pm  (EDT) \nCamp Counselor: Jason Reddish\n\nWhat We Are Covering in Week 6:\n\nSession 1 – 340B Program Developments: Learning to Roll with the Punches\n\nFive years ago\, drug manufacturers started limiting shipments of drugs purchased through the 340B drug discount program to health centers’ contracted pharmacies. Since then\, we have faced a seemingly unending parade of news – the Inflation Reduction Act\, “rebate” models proposed by drug manufacturers\, changes to Medicaid managed care reimbursement\, and the evolution of telemedicine\, infusion therapies\, and medication therapy management. This webinar will highlight the current state of the 340B program and our best guess at where it will go from here\, including how to roll with the punches to position yourself for success.\n\n\nSession 2 – 340B Program Practice: Increasing Affordability for Patients Without Stepping on Landmines\n\nHealth centers know their core mission is to provide comprehensive primary health care services to all patients regardless of ability to pay. Unfortunately\, regulations and payer contracts often create difficulties when trying to reduce drug costs for patients who cannot afford their cost-sharing obligations. This webinar discusses where health centers do and do not have flexibility to implement discounts\, cost-sharing waivers\, and sliding-fee style discount programs for their patients.\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\nEach Compliance Summer Camp session will be recorded and available on demand.
